Amazing Milkshake Recipes for the George Forman Mix & Go

It’s the festive season so we’re letting go a little bit, putting a hold on the daily green smoothie and indulging in some well-deserved treats.

Inspired by the latest out-of-this–world milkshakes trend, here are our favourite treats to make with the blender-of-the-moment, the George Foreman Mix & Go.

S’mores Milkshake

We’ve turned this American campfire tradition – gooey roasted marshmallow and melted chocolate smooshed between crunchy graham crackers – into an amazing Australia summer drink.

We don’t have graham crackers in Australia, but digestive/ whole-wheat biscuits will do the trick!

What you’ll need:

(Makes 1 serve)

  • ½ cup of mini marshmallows
  • A handful of large marshmallows
  • 3 digestive biscuits
  • 300ml milk, chilled
  • 2 scoops chocolate ice cream
  • 70g chocolate (your choice of milk or dark), melted

Brush a heat-proof bowl with melted butter (this will prevent the marshmallows from sticking to it). Put the marshmallows in the bowl over a saucepan of water (make sure the bowl does not touch the water) on low-medium heat. Constantly stir the marshmallows until they have melted into a smooth mixture with no lumps.

Use the melted marshmallows straight away or they will begin to harden. Pour the marshmallow into your Mix & Go with the milk, melted chocolate (reserve around 20ml for the topping) and 2 of the biscuits – blend away.

Pour the milkshake into your serving glass, top with the remaining biscuit and large marshmallows and drizzle with melted chocolate.

Pavlova Milkshake

This is a fun spin on an Aussie summer classic.

What you’ll need:

(Makes 1 serve)

  • 1 cup store-bought meringue
  • 1 cup mixed fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, mango and passionfruit work best)
  • ¼ cup simple syrup (1 part water to 1 part sugar, boiled until sugar has dissolved)
  • 150ml milk, chilled
  • 150ml thickened cream, chilled
  • Seeds from ½ vanilla pod

Put all the ingredients into the Mix & Go and blend. Once smooth, pour the mixture into your glass. Top with extra crushed meringue, chopped berries and passionfruit pulp.
