Organising Tips for Back to School

Organising Tips for Back to School

It’s hard to believe it’s almost time for the kids to go back to school. Time flies when you’re having fun, as they say! Another term of packed lunches, homework help, and (mostly) clean uniforms is on the horizon.

But after 6 weeks of holiday mode, we can use all the help we can get when it comes to running a tight ship. Stay on top of your game with these simple back to school organising tips!

We’ve focused on organisation and school supplies here – for all your back to school tech, check out our sale! The best offer to date is currently on the Hewlett Packard 15.6 Notebook K1C53Pa Celeron, as tablets and notebooks are becoming more and more popular.

Plan the School Supplies

School supplies for the start of term is big business, between the book coverings, pencil cases, exercise books and a seemingly endless stream of pens marketed as ‘essential’ for scholarly success.

For the kids, it can be an exciting time, and they’re likely to be reaching for anything and everything in sight. Keep these basic expenses in check by making a list of the essentials, and sticking closely to it. For example, is that roll of white-out tape essential? Probably not!

Food for thought

Pack pantry lunchbox items the night before, and add anything from the fridge in the next morning – this is a time saver, especially if there are a few kids to get ready!

For after school, a snack station is a good idea to satisfy the pre-dinner cravings. Putting simple and healthy snacks in a bowl on the kitchen bench will be easy to grab and it won’t spoil their appetite for dinner.

Plan ahead

Planners are an essential, especially when you’re dealing with more than one child with after-school activities. Swimming, soccer, dancing, rugby practice can all be easily coordinated with a nice big planner in a common area, so everyone in the family knows timings.

It’s also useful for older children to start using week-at-a-glance planners so they can learn time management. Have them write down homework due dates so they can assess workloads and unpack accordingly!
